D2 / S2 Heating Cooling Piping Mechanics

Hourly Rate: Commensurate with skills and experience
Employment: Full Time – Shop Location: Oxford, CT
Hours: Vary, but generally 7:00am to 3:30pm
Overtime: available and occasionally require

Professional Qualifications:

Licensed Journeyman with commercial experience. Must be able to:

  • Read and comprehend plans and specifications.
  • Read and comprehend manufacturer’s installation instructions.
  • Know the requirements of the 2015 International Mechanical Code and associated State of CT amendments.
  • Communicate orally, in writing and/or by hand or electronic sketches on topics germane to the work.
  • Have a good working knowledge pipe joining methods: solder, brazing, silver soldering, pro-press, pex fittings, threading and grooving.
  • Have a good working knowledge of ductwork installation practices. It would be beneficial for you to have ductwork fabrication skills, but it is not required for this position.
  • Basic knowledge of various mechanical systems: VRF system technology and associated equipment, typical AC systems and associated equipment, hot water heating and associated equipment, steam heating and/or steam process piping systems and associated equipment, various gas systems, all HVAC ducted systems and associated equipment with the exception of kitchen hoods and associated intake and exhaust ducts.
  • Use technology software and equipment the company provides for reporting time, purchases and all other activities related this position. The company provides at a minimum a cell phone. Optionally, you may receive a computer and/or iPad depending what level of responsibility you are given.
  • Work independently or with a team.

Licenses and other qualifications:

  • Must have a valid State of CT driver’s license.
  • Must have one of the following currently valid State of CT trade licenses: D1, D2, S1 or S2.
  • High School or equivalent degree as a minimum.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification. Training is available.
